God’s Bespoken Blessing to EAST

Blessed Charity Ong joined EAST as an intern in 2019 to complete her Communication Master’s degree and then stayed on as a volunteer. She designed many of our EAST’s collaterals and equipped the Advancement Team with media design and communication skills. She is the design genius who helped to initiate the EAST’s rebranding project and came up with a new brand kit and logo. This happened as we relocated from 110 Middle Rd to our new permanent campus at 118 Joo Chiat Rd. Read about Blessed’s journey in her own words and her motivation to bless EAST for His glory.

Blessed’s Journey in Design & Communications

It is actually a story of creating and developing something out of nothing. My first ministry was being part of the Music Team. But as our church grows and expands its vision to becoming a church that adopts the digital trend, there came a need to fill in that gap. And as a young person at that time, with zero knowledge on all the media tools and softwares, I prayed and asked for my parents’ support to switch from my current college program to Multimedia Arts, to hone my skills and to help further the advancement of our church ministry. So I believe what I have in my hand at that moment is only a desire to serve and with that hope, that I want to be part of something great.

Love Your Neighbour

Jesus said, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. ~ Matthew 22:37-39, ESV

In “Wanna do outreach? Let’s first talk about love,” Pastor Jeff Chong of Hope Singapore Church said, “Our neighbours are anyone that we encounter; that God has brought into our sphere of influences. Everyone is our neighbour.”

Thus if Christ’s commandment is to love God and love people (see the verses above), then it has to be ongoing acts of love toward others especially our neighbours located around us.

Blessing Joo Chiat Business Community

Recently, a number of staff and students wanted to show God’s love to the business community in Joo Chiat. They gave out bags of oranges and greetings cards to nearby shops and stalls while observing safe management measures. Those who received the bags were informed of EAST recent move to the area and our desire to get to know our neighbours better.

Please pray for EAST in knowing how best to express God’s love to our neighbours in the coming days. Shalom.

See below for more pictures of the recent visit to nearby businesses.

New Year Blessings 2021

Design by Blessed Ong

Happy blessed New Year 2021!

“You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance.”
~ Psalm 65:11, NIV

“But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.
~ Jeremiah 17:7, NLT

O taste and see that the Lord is good. How happy is the man who trusts in Him!
~ Psalm 34:8, NLV

“The Lord has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.”
~ Psalm 103:19, ESV

As we enter the New Year of 2021, may our eyes of faith never wavers with a 20/20 vision of who Jesus Christ is, who we are in relation to Him, and our place and calling in His reign as the King over His Kingdom. Likewise, may EAST continue to be true to its God-given mission to “equip servant leaders for the Great Commission” in the new year and beyond. Shalom.

Consider partnering with EAST to fulfill its God-given mission in the new year because you can never outgive God: www.donorbox.org/partner-east

Have a truly meaningful, fruitful, and blessed 2021!

From all at EAST.

Given All to be All Generous

“11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.” ~ 2 Corinthians 9:11 (NIV)

God has given us all things to enjoy and in turn we are to bless others beyond measure through our generous giving of ourselves and all things. This results in a mutuality of joy by blessing others and by graciously accepting help from others. Proverbs 11:25 says, “Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.”
