Advanced Studies

East Asia School of Theology (EAST) is partnering with Asia Graduate School of Theology Alliance (AGST Alliance) to offer doctorate-level programs. Currently, the partnership has two programs with each focused on its own context and target audience.

Doctor of Ministry

The Doctor of Ministry in Leadership (DMin) is an English program designed for Christian ministers and leaders of full-time vocational Christian ministry. The in-person class location is conducted in Korea. Some of the classes are being conducted online. The inaugural cohort started in 2018 and was hosted by Korea Campus Crusade for Christ. Read about the DMin experience of a first cohort member, Mr Samuel Kim, who experienced the journey and then the graduation of these students in 2025. The second cohort of the DMin program was matriculated in 2022. Application for the third cohort is now open.

For more information on the DMin program, please visit the AGSTA-EAST Doctor of Ministry page.

Doctor of Education

The Doctor of Education (EdD) is a transformative program which seeks to combine the best of AGST-Alliance and EAST in its philosophy and practice of learning.

The EdD program is conducted in Bahasa Indonesia (or translated from English) and designed for faculty of Christian higher education and Christian ministers. The location of in-person classes will mostly be in Medan, Indonesia. Modules may be offered in Singapore or through online learning, depending on the situation. The inaugural cohort started in 2021 as initially requested by Bethsaida Evangelical School of Theology/Sekolah Tinggi Teologi Injil Bethsaida, Medan (BEST).

The EdD program student application is currently closed.
