Peace and security in the Lord
John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Spoken during the Last Supper, this verse is Jesus comforting his disciples after telling them he will be betrayed and die. His disciples, understandably distraught, are asking him many questions about what to do after he leaves and what guidance they will have. Jesus assures them that he will not be leaving them unprepared, stating also in verse John 14:26 that “the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.”
Obedience in God in Christ by the Holy Spirit, can bring us some control over our feelings. Humans are often shackled to their emotions but Jesus tells us that through the Holy Spirit, we can bring peace to ourselves, even in difficult times.

All things connect together for good in PIM
With the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, safety measures have made it necessary for Partners in Ministry (PIM) courses to be offered online. The scope of PIM’s online reach has thus expanded to Asia and beyond. This provides opportunities to impact more with its mission to equip wives of men in full-time ministry or bi-vocational ministry to grow in partnership with their husbands in the Lord’s work. Praise God!
A for Aleph, EAST Aleph!
Aleph is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet. At East Asia School of Theology (EAST), the term EAST Aleph refers to a two-week immersion experience for new students. It occurs each July before the start of a new academic year and is considered the start of matriculation for EAST’s academic programs. Below is a brief report on this year’s EAST Aleph (2-16 July 2021) written by Mrs Josephine Goh-Lew, an EAST Resident Faculty and the Director of Mentoring Groups. It also includes a reflection on the event by a new student, Mr Daniel Yoncer, who went through the actual EAST Aleph.
