Prayer pointer 17 March 2022

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”  Philippians 4:6 -ESV

Friends, are you anxious about anything? Are you trying very hard to handle life situations in your own strength? Lent season, is a time for us to draw close to God in prayer, reflect on His love to us and pass His blessings to others.

Praise God:

– That we have a heavenly father who loves us and is always with us to free us from anxiety.

Pray for

– God’s intervention for everyone who seeks Him earnestly and prayerfully in their times of need and decision making.

– EAST Mission Hub, as a centre to continue blessing migrant workers in the neighbourhood and a seminary for equipping leaders.

A Lenten Journey @ Chapel Service

https://youtu.be/FbXFxvcwXMM&w=490

We have had the privilege of worship leaders and musicians Earnest Lau and Tan Ming Li (“acoustic Christian duo”) being present at a recent Chapel to gently lead us through a Lenten service. Earnest gave the background on the Lenten season before Ming Li led a solemn yet quietly joyful and hope-filled liturgical worship service. The times from the Word, heartfelt songs of adoration, repentance prayers, congregational responses, and meditative silences filled our souls with a tangible presence of the Almighty. We linger long in the presence of the Holy Spirit as we continue the contemplative journey in this season of Lent (see the 40 days of Lent below).

All School Event 2022

On 4 March 2022,  last Friday, EAST Family gathered for a fun day. The faculty, students and staff, old & young, the Avengers, the cast of Lord of the Ring, and even Moses came with his umbrella. We had songs, laughter and even a dance.  Teams were grouped with unique names like “Baby Shark” and “Three Blind Mice”. We were entertained by the Myanmar Trio (Zaini, Yoe Yoe & Ta Eh), the Bahasa Boy Band headed by Choon Voon the dancing king, a Gregorian chant by none other than our Dr Lewis Winkler and a romantic ballad by our resident crooner Roy Tan.

Prayer Pointers – 10 March 2022

“Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. “ Colossians 4:2 – ESV

In the season of LENT, it is a time for prayer, reflection and giving. Are we constantly connecting with God in prayer? Are there things or traits that we need to give up? Let us reflect doing so with a thankful heart for God’s love and His goodness to us.

Praise God:

– We can draw close to Him through prayer and meditation.  In Him we are sheltered and empowered to fulfil His Great Commission.

Pray for

– God’s help to free us from fear, frustration and inferiority complex; enabling us to give generously and act in boldness to transform our community.

– EAST mission hub to be effectively used to reach out globally, provide online classes and connect God’s people in united prayer for world peace and an end to the Covid-19 pandemic.

I am the God that healeth thee

https://youtu.be/by_SFot51w0&w=490

While we journey through this season of the pandemic, this is a time to recognise God as Jehovah Rapha who heals us.

The words of the song go like this:
I am the God that healeth thee, I am the Lord your healer
I send My word, and I heal your disease, I am the Lord your healer

You are the God that healeth me, You are the Lord my healer
You send your word, and you healed my disease, You are the Lord my healer

God said to the people of Israel, “I, the LORD, am your healer.” (Exodus 15:26)
This is God telling His people of His identity and His nature as the God who brings healing to His people.

Even when the pain and discomfort of our illnesses seem too much for us to bear, this remains unchanged:
I am the God that healeth thee, I am the Lord your healer.

Be blessed, and be healed, in Jesus’ name.
