Seeks to equip leaders to commit to authentic personal transformation and the passion to serve the world around them for Jesus’ sake. This course examines the underlying theology, leadership theory, and skill set of a transforming leader in today’s world. Leadership is not a job nor a position. It is a passion and a calling. A transformational servant-leader seeks to bring about change in organisations and individuals.
Chan Chong Hiok, DD, has been a Cru Singapore staff since 1975 and has served in the Philippines and more than ten years as Country Director of Cru Singapore. For eighteen years, he served in East Asia as the National Campus Director and then as the Area Team Leader. He served as President of EAST since 2011. He has an MDiv and DD (Transformational Leadership) from the International Graduate School of Leadership (Philippines).
Nelson Lo, MDiv, joined staff in 1991 and was actively serving in the Chinese Ministry of Philippine Campus Crusade for Christ. For nine years he was ministering amongst the Chinese churches and schools in the Philippines before moving to East Asia in 2000. Nelson served as a Campus Director, Regional Training Director, City Director, National Coordinator for Church Planting Network and as the Regional Leader-led Movement Director before moving to Singapore in 2011. He then served as the chief of staff of the Area Team Leader for East Asia Opportunities. In 2003, Nelson and Sophie got married and they are both currently on staff with Cru Singapore (formerly Singapore Campus Crusade for Christ). They are blessed with two children: Hannah and Joshua.

9 January – 8 May 2026, Thursdays, 7.00 pm – 9.00 pm
Examines the calling, roles, and function of a disciple-making church leader. The shepherding roles of leading, care, and feeding the congregation are explored. Church ministries and common issues are examined. Students develop the foundations for an integrated philosophy of church ministry.

Bobby Lee Oon Chai, DMin, held many leadership positions. He was a pastor for 11 years, a Pastor Advisor for 2 churches, Executive Director for Singapore Baptist Convention for 8 years and was a Board Member of Singapore Baptist Convention and is a Board Member of Bible Society Singapore, Hope Initiative Alliance and Evangelical Alliance Singapore. Bobby is an adjunct lecturer at BTS (Baptist Theological Seminary) and he authored a few books and essays. His research and teaching interests are leadership, preaching, missions, business as missions. His interests are music, environmental conservation, arts, hiking, cycling, and travel.

Jonathan Yao, EdD Candidate, has been on staff with Cru Singapore for 37 years. He has served with high school, university, evangelism and mission mobilisation, church-planting, theological and leadership development ministries in Singapore and East Asia. He is married to Eng Meng, and they have three young adult children.
