Mentoring Group Ministry Weekend to 6 Cities
This year’s Mentoring Group (MG) Ministry Weekend sees teams of MG ministering in Batam, Kuala Lumpur, Malacca, Medan, Pontian, and Singapore. The four-day event allows staff and students to serve the churches and Christian organizations as needed. In the process, it engenders team building and lessons learnt from doing ministry cross-culturally.
“The church offers diverse ministry opportunities and there are already very good exposure established through this trip with the church which we may continue to nurture in future trips,” mused one team with members from six nations.
Most Important Ministry Partners
Wives of pastors, missionaries, and field ministers are the most important ministry partners of their husbands. EAST’s Partners In Ministry (PIM) program seeks to equip these women as growing partners and effective co-labourers in their family and ministry. PIM is led by Mrs. Margaret Chan together with her PIM faculty team.

Learn Bible’s Geography, History & Culture
Have you gone on a Holy Land tour in the past or plan to go for one and would like to learn more about the places there? Dr. Keith Shubert seeks to help students better understand the biblical geography, history, and culture. The evening seminars also help students to enhance their personal understanding and study of the Bible.

Contextualizing Gospel Message and Methods
“Had the privilege of sharing about ‘Contextualization and the Arts’ in the Contextualization class at EAST… Great questions. Great interaction,” wrote Patrick Ng, an EAST Alumni. Dr. Kwa Kiem Kiok teaches the course for ministers of the gospel to critically contextualize their message and methods in ministry.

Reaching Students in Taichung
EAST students were in Taiwan recently as part of their Cross-cultural Team Internship. Hailing from three nations (none of which is Chinese), they ministered among Taiwanese campus students and churches in Taichung City by sharing the gospel personally, hold outreaches, spoke at churches and on campus. They learnt to live and work together in a multi-cultural team and ministered in a different culture and language than their own.
