BS413 Biblical Foundations 2 (New Testament) (3 credits)
Tuesdays: 1.30 pm-4.45 pm
This course focuses on foundational knowledge and understanding of the New Testament literature, genre, and culture including composition and authorship, authority and reliability, major themes, and the importance of the New Testament in Christian living and ministry. Class is limited to BA-level students only.
Amy graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary (USA), and has taught Bible and theological classes since 2002. She served on the pastoral team at St. John’s – St. Margaret’s Church before joining EAST as a resident faculty. Amy is a creative teacher who challenges her students to interact with God’s Word critically.

The course explores biblical counseling approaches to common issues faced by engaged and married couples and in family relationships. You will learn to recognize and understand common dysfunctions, how individuals relate and why they do so, and how to bring healing and resolution.
Wilson Phang, PhD
Wilson is the founder of Ministry Personnel Care. He is using his background in crisis response, psychiatry, psychology, Biblical counseling and missiology to provide care, counsel and training to Christian workers globally. He and his wife have three grown children.

Have historians uncovered “the real Jesus”–one who is different from the Jesus described in the Gospels? Did Paul, James, and Peter really write all the biblical books attributed to them, or are many of these books forgeries? This course will look at these and other questions, equipping you to defend your faith more effectively.
Rob MacEwen, PhD
Rob, a former missionary to East Asia, is passionate about helping others understand and apply God’s Word. He has authored Matthean Posteriority, a book that explores literary relationships between the first three gospels.

Leadership is a passion and a calling. A transformational servant-leader is capable of bringing about change in organisations, and individuals. This course examines the underlying theology, leadership theory, and skill set of such a leader in today’s world.
CHAN CHONG HIOK, DD
Chan Chong Hiok is a Cru Singapore staff since 1975 and has served in the Philippines and more than ten years as Country Director of Cru Singapore. For eighteen years, he served in East Asia as the National Campus Director and then as the Area Team Leader. He served as President of EAST since 2011. He has an MDiv and DD (Transformational Leadership) from the International Graduate School of Leadership (Philippines).
Nelson Lo, MDiv/DMin Studies
Nelson has served with Cru since 1991 in regional and national leadership positions in the Philippines, East Asia, and Singapore. He is currently pursuing the Doctor of Ministry in Leadership with Asia Graduate School of Theology – Alliance.

This class invites you on a transformational journey as we deal with contemporary issues concerning leadership, parenting, the role of women, friendship, and servanthood through a study of 1 and 2 Samuel.
Jeremy Chew, PhD
Jeremy is a Cru Singapore staff since 1991 and has ministered to high school and campus students. He has also led and mentored at new staff training, and coached at cross-cultural training. Jeremy and Bee with their two children have served in East Asia for five years before doing his PhD at Asbury Theological Seminary (USA). Jeremy’s greatest desire is to integrate biblical exposition with spiritual formation.
