Course: Bible Study Method and Hermeneutics
The Bible Study Method and Hermeneutics course teaches students how to study Scriptures for themselves so that they can feast on God’s Word. This skills course as taught by Dr. Keith Shubert helps believers to feed themselves on spiritual truths and not be spoon-fed as spiritual babes. Here’s the class in role-playing action!
Course: Theology 1
The study of theology is to understand the major doctrines of our Christian faith. Theology 1 covers the doctrines of the Bible, God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
Mr. Matthew Winslow teaches the class in a blended format which, among other things, seeks for more thoughtful engagement of students who are non-English native speaker.
Course: Physical Settings of the Bible
EAST’s Physical Settings of the Bible course helps students better understand the biblical geography, history, and culture. The evening seminar by Dr. Keith Shubert was designed to enhance students’ personal understanding and study of the Bible. If you missed this class, do join us the next round.
Field Supervisors’ Tea
EAST Field Supervisors’ Tea was held recently to commission students as Field Interns under their respective Field Supervisors and ministries.
Two students from Mongolia and Myanmar shared how the Lord has led them to full-time vocational ministry and to EAST for their theological development. It was one of the largest gatherings of Field Supervisors which was a great encouragement to all present. The EAST Field Practicum department is led by Mrs. Tan Ying Kheng.
Seminar: Real Engagement with the LGBT
EAST’s faculty, Dr. Kwa Kiem Kiok, spoke at a seminar on “Real Engagement with the LGBT.” This was followed by a panel which sought to address questions raised. The panel, chaired by Rev. Dr. Peter Lin (Queenstown Baptist) and beside Dr. Kwa, consisted of Dr. Poling Sun (Baptist Theological Seminary Singapore), Pastor Ben Chan (Focus on the Family Singapore), and Dr. Calvin Chong (Singapore Bible College).
