Field Supervisors’ Tea 2016

Field Supervisors' Tea 2016

We are very thankful for the many field supervisors, church leaders and pastors who came for our Field Supervisors’ Tea. Students took time to prepare tea and snacks from their culture. There were testimonies by Nick and Naara about how they found the Lord and His call in their university days in Tibet, and Inner Mongolia, respectively. The afternoon tea ended with prayers of dedication by the supervisors of the students and their ministries.

Andrew Spurgeon’s latest book

Andrew Spurgeon book

“Twin Cultures Separated by Centuries: An Indian Reading of 1 Corinthians” is the latest book by EAST Resident Faculty,  Dr Andrew Spurgeon. He works with the original Greek text to discern the commonalities of Corinthian and Indian cultures and applying the epistle’s principles to Indian Christians today. He presents Indian similarities to those in Corinth, moves on to biblical principles the Apostle Paul identifies for the Corinthian church–especially where culture was in conflict with biblical standards–and finally reapplies these principles to the context of life in modern India.

Lincoln Wee’s chapel sharing

Chapel_Lincoln Wee

An EAST alumni, Lincoln Wee (MAICS, 2011), shared at a recent Chapel Service of his and his family experience as missionaries to Japan. Despite the challenges of language and culture, they were blessed by spiritual fruitfulness through the outreaches they organized and the churches they ministered in. The call to serve from God requires a response that is marked not so much by happiness but by obedience. Praise God for His faithfulness through the lives of our alumni. Shalom.
