“But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. 2 And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. 5 And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, ‘Why do you seek the living among the dead? 6 He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, 7 that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.'” ~ Luke 24:1-7, ESV

“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen,” proclaimed the angels (cf. Matthew 28:5) as they greeted the women (cf. Luke 24:10) at the empty tomb that first Resurrection Sunday (Luke 24:5-6, ESV). Christ is indeed risen! Those who accepted Him as their Saviour rejoice in a living Redeemer who has ultimate victory over sin and death. HALLELUJAH!

Was Jesus’ Body Stolen from the Tomb?

The above video is entitled “Couldn’t they have stolen his body and made it up?” In it, Mr Jose Philip explains how it is much more difficult and unlikely for the disciples of Jesus to have fabricated the resurrection, than for it to have been a true, historical occurrence. Mr Philip has previously taught theology and apologetics at EAST classes in his capacity as a visiting faculty.

On the Cross for Our Sins

“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” – 1 Peter 2:24. ESV

This Friday is Good because “He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness…” As we remember His great sacrifice, may we likewise extend His redemptive forgiveness to others as those whose wounds have been healed by Him. Selah.

Thank God that we can come to Him by faith, trusting Him to deliver us when we are in trouble. Even when we are not in need, we can always come to the Lord in thanksgiving prayer. Shalom.

What a privilege to be able to rejoice in our Lord, from whom all blessings flow and who protect us from all danger and harm. May He grant us supernatural joy and shalom peace as we place our trust in Him through all circumstances of life.
