This course examines the biblical standard of Servant-Steward-Shepherd leadership against some popular leadership theories and praxis. Students will discover how God has uniquely designed them in areas of gifting, passion, temperament, and life experience. A time will be provided for each student to seek God for a personal vision and mission for the next fifteen years of their life. These have implications for personal management of their time, talent, and treasure over a lifetime.

This course seeks to facilitate inner growth of students to become holistically (spirit and soul) healthy shepherds. This is done by first revitalizing the spirit for long and effective service; second uncluttering the soul of inhibited relationship towards self, others and God; and third validating oneself to mitigate these issues of spirit and soul.

An expositional study of the book of Deuteronomy with attention to genre and structure, historical setting, purpose, biblical theology, major themes of the book, and relevance for life and ministry.
Old Testament Narratives – Online Day Course

Old Testament Narratives (OT510, 3 Credits, Online)
13 January – 12 May 2023, Fridays, 1.30 pm-4.30 pm
An expositional study of the Pentateuch and the Historical books of the Old Testament (Genesis through Esther), giving attention to the covenant motif and theological themes. Emphasis will also be given to the interpretation of narrative genre with attention to various elements such as literary, historical, political, and cultural contexts as well as relationship to the New Testament.
Prerequisite: BS510 Bible Study Methods and Hermeneutics.
