The study of Genesis to Esther highlights that the God of the Old Testament is the same God we worship today. It has been said that “The New Testament is concealed in the Old, and the Old Testament is revealed in the New.” Many themes we find in the New Testament have their roots in the history of Israel. This study will help the student appreciate the unfolding drama of God’s redemptive plan for man. Each book advances God’s plan to raise up a chosen people and a holy nation.
Pre-requisite: BS510 Bible Study Methods And Hermeneutics. Students taking this course for audit (i.e. not for credit), will be waived from fulfilling the pre-requisite.

People sometimes have an idealized view of the first-century church—that it was consistently faithful to the Lord and relatively free of problems. However, careful study of the Epistles shatters this misconception—we see that the early Christians have much in common with us. In this course we will gain a better understanding of the Epistles and Revelation in their original settings and get insight into how to apply this literature to our lives today.
Pre-requisite: BS510 Bible Study Methods and Hermeneutics. Students taking this course for audit (i.e. not for credit), will be waived from fulfilling the pre-requisite.
