Have you gone on a Holy Land tour in the past and would like to learn more about the places you visited? Or would you like to go sometime in the future?  This course will help you better understand the biblical geography, history, and culture. The evening seminars are designed to enhance your personal understanding and study of the Bible.

Biblical Counselling In Ministry (Day Course)

LF561 Biblical Counselling In Ministry (2 credits)
Fridays: 2.00 pm – 5.30 pm, 20 July – 20 November 2015

Have you been asked to counsel a friend, someone at your church, or a member of your small group? This course introduces foundational principles and techniques of a ministry of care and counselling. This course includes a study of biblical, theological, and ethical aspects of counselling in ministry as well as common counselling concerns often encountered by ministry practitioners.

Justine has counselled people in church and ministry situations in Korea, Japan, and USA.  She served with Cru and has also been a Pastor of Women’s Ministry and Children’s Ministry for Korean-American churches.  She has been a Course Tutor of Education and Pastoral Ministry in the Distance Education at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (USA). She and her husband, Raymond, have two adult children.

Theology 1 (Day Course)

TS510 Theology 1 (3 credits)
Tuesdays & Thursdays: 9.00 am – 10.45 am, 20 July – 20 November 2015

The purpose of this course is to survey, interact with, and imaginatively apply in the contemporary context the major theological and scriptural doctrines relating to the Bible, God the Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.

Pre-requisites: BS510 Bible Study Methods and Hermeneutics, TS510 Worldview and Biblical Decision Making or IS520 Contextualisation. Students taking this course for audit (i.e. not for credit), will not be required to fulfil the pre-requisites.

Matthew is a Cru staff since 2002 and has ministered cross-culturally in East Asia before doing his ThM degree in Historical Theology and Cross-cultural Ministry. Matthew loves thinking carefully about who God is and how we can communicate him to others in light of current questions that are being asked.

Worldview & Biblical Decision Making (Day Course)

TS560 Worldview and Biblical Decision Making (2 credits)
Wednesdays: 9.00 am – 11.15 am, 20 July – 20 November 2015

Your worldview shapes how you live even if you don’t know what it is and how it works. This course seeks to explore the big questions of life and develop the necessary categories to develop a Biblical view of life to help you develop a truly Christian framework for moral decision making. You will be encouraged to apply creatively and thoughtfully what you learn to a number of case studies and scenarios as well as teach the information to others. You will also develop a ministry project that will be genuinely helpful to the context in which you serve.

Jose Philip is the Director for Itinerant Development with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (Asia-Pacific). He grew up in India and became a follower of Jesus Christ at the age of fourteen. While working in the Middle East he discovered his passion for teaching and preaching the Word. As a result he moved to Singapore and completed both an MDiv in Biblical Studies and ThM at Singapore Bible College. Since graduating in 2008 he has taught in various settings and countries.

*Terms and Conditions for SG50 EAST Jubilee Promotions:

a. The promotions are applicable for use by visiting students only.

b. The validity period for all Jubilee promotions is for EAST regular courses conducted and completed within 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2016. The EAST Holy Land Study Tour is excluded from this promotion.

c. SG50 First Course Free and SG50 50% Off Seconds cannot be used together within the same semester of studies. I.e. if a student uses the SG50 First Course Free to take a course in Semester 1 (Jul-Nov 2015), then he/she can only use SG50 50% Off Seconds for any one course in Semester 2 (Jan-May 2016) or for any one course from the Intensive Courses (Nov/Dec 2015 and May/Jun 2016).

d. All registration fees paid are non-refundable.
