EAST Chapel: Talk Show on Love

The EAST Chapel theme for this semester is “The Greatest Of These Is Love” based on 1 Corinthians 13. Each Chapel Service is organized by a different Mentoring Group (MG) of faculty and students with the freedom of format but focused on the theme.

1 Corinthians 13 begins with: “If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal” (v. 1, NIV). The last chapel service saw the organising MG using a talk show format to creatively introduce the biblical theme of love. There is perhaps no better way to start a semester with a resounding call and timely reminder to love each other selflessly especially within the body of Christ as expressed locally through the EAST community.

Pastor David Sun’s Journey of Grace

Hear Pastor David Sun’s story of his journey of grace with a stopover at EAST. David (MDiv, 2019), like other mature students at EAST, comes with a rich set of experiences in life and ministry. Those experiences are then reviewed through fresh biblical-theological lens of Scripture, reflections, holistic application, and habit formation in the context of a multi-cultural missional community at EAST. Shalom.

EAST Mentoring Group Retreat 2018

How does one experience shalom peace and pray without ceasing in busy Singapore as student, staff, and faculty of a Bible school?

Dr Alex Tang, the plenary speaker, led all at the EAST Mentoring Group Retreat 2018 on a “Spiritual Tune-up” in the first week of the new year. The spiritual formation retreat helps each to discern the different ways one connects with God, to do a check-up of one’s spiritual inventory, and to begin developing a soul-care action plan. Praise God!

Mid-year Student Orientation 2018

New Student Orientation was conducted for mid-year intake of students in January 2018. International students from Cambodia, East Asia, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Myanmar, South Korea, and USA are welcomed by fellow students, staff, and faculty. This “mini orientation” will be supplemented by the full immersion exercise, EAST Aleph, at the start of a new academic year in July 2018. Please be in prayer for these students as they begin their learning journey with EAST.

Blessed New Year 2018

EAST wishes you a blessed New Year 2018 filled with opportunities to experience God and do good!

“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:15-16, NIV

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” Galatians 6:9-10, NIV
