GLO@EAST – Great Learning Online/Onsite with EAST Courses*

While EAST continues to learn and grow as a school, we are committed to offering as best a learning experience as possible through online or onsite (in–person) classes. Our desire is integrated learning involving the heart, head, and hands through the power of the Holy Spirit, resulting in a transformative outcome.

*We are offering our full value courses free from tuition fees for audit students (i.e. not for credit or grade) as part of the GLO@EAST promotion. This is applicable for the Nov. 2020 intensive online class and selected semester online/onsite classes for January to May 2021. Registration fee of S$35 is still payable upon sign–up to confirm your place at the class of your choice. Credit students will have to pay registration and tuition fees.

Currently the following courses will be offered as part of the GLO@EAST promotion. Course registration will open in October 2020. Please note that onsite (in–person) classes will be held at EAST new campus: 118 Joo Chiat Road, Singapore 427407.

 

INTENSIVE ONLINE CLASS (NOVEMBER 2020)

Exposition of Job (OT551, 3 credits)
25 November – 4 December 2020 (starts on Wednesday, ends on the following Friday), 9.00 am-12.30 pm

The class will attempt to grapple with the problem of theodicy in the Book of Job and respond to the following questions: Why does God allow unexplainable pain and suffering? Why do the righteous suffer? In the darkest times, what will sustain a person who is suffering? What principles can be applied in counseling someone who is in pain? What is the relevance of the message of Job to the pain and suffering that came in the wake of COVID 19? This course is suitable for Church members, leaders, pastors, seminarians and anyone who is interested in exploring the relevance of the message God has for us through the Book of Job today.

PARTNERS IN MINISTRY DAY ONLINE CLASSES (JANUARY 2021 ONWARD)

The Partners in Ministry (PIM) program is designed for wives of seminary students, or whose husbands are in vocational Christian ministry.

Bible Study Methods (BS410, 3 Credits)
Mondays, 1.00 pm – 3.00 pm, January – May 2021

This class will help students learn basic Bible study methods, small group dynamics and facilitation, and basic elements of preparing a lesson plan. This is a course to equip students on how to first study the Bible on their own and in turn to teach the biblical truth through the understanding of leading a small group discussion effectively.
