This course is an exposition of the Christian understanding of humility both from the Scriptures and Christian thought. The aims are threefold: first, we will learn from the Scriptures that Christ, as humility embodied, fully reveals God who has shown Himself to be humble even in the Old Testament; second, we will learn from Christian thought that believers across time and traditions have affirmed the teaching of Scripture concerning the humility of God and His requirement that His people ought to humble themselves; finally, we will explore how Christian humility finds expression in our relationships with the world, the church, and within our families.
